Mental Disorders and Psychotherapy

Health is wealth. These three words should never be neglected. Everyone should be aware about how important health is. Each of us need to take good care of our physical health as well as mental health. Even oral health is very important. If one of these is neglected, the other parts of the body will also suffer. Both the body and the mind are important. And the mind should be taken care of well because once a person suffer from any mental disorder, his world will change.

Regarding this matter, there are different types of mental disorders. And these are common mental disorders which includes anxiety disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, eating disorders, and also impulse control and addiction disorders, personality disorders like antisocial personality disorder and paranoid personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). All of these are known as mental disorders. It can be mild but if the person is not immediately evaluated and diagnosed, then it will become severe and he will be at high risk.

Only a licensed and trained mental health care professional is able to assess or evaluate the condition of someone who is possibly suffering from a mental disorder. And the patient is to undergo psychotherapy wherein he is required to talk about his current state. There are different types of this form of therapy. It can be individual, group, marital or couples, and family. Therapy can be done in any of these formats. The first thing that the mental health professional will do is  to talk with the patient about their disorder.
